Art and Architecture: A Conversation Inspired by Lee Ufan

event, upcoming

What happens when art enters into dialogue with architecture?
Taking the exhibition Lee Ufan as its point of departure, SMAC Venice and Venice Studio organize a conversation on 8 July to explore the relationship between artistic practice, space, and architecture through the work of one of the most influential living contemporary artists.
From the collaboration between Lee Ufan and Tadao Ando on Naoshima Island to the encounter between Lee's works and David Chipperfield's renovation of the Procuratie, the discussion reflects on how architecture shapes the experience of art—and how art, in turn, redefines the spaces it inhabits.
Bringing together leading voices from architecture and design, the panel features Hans Larsson (Associate, OMA), Lorenzo Mattozzi (Associate, MVRDV), and Scott Woods (Director, Venice Studio), moderated by Kim Võ (PhD Student in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Planning, Harvard University).
